Be prepared.

Founded in 1881, the American Red Cross helps people in need throughout the United States and the world. The American Red Cross Central California Region stretches over 10 counties and serves the over 4.4 million residents of Central California. This Chapter seeks to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to natural and human-caused disasters.

The American Red Cross exists to provide compassionate care to those in need.

Recognizing the heroes among us.

Every year the Central California Regional Chapter seeks to honor the heroes within their own communities by holding a fundraiser benefit. Everyday people do extraordinary things and it is important to recognize this. WJ has been providing professional event photography including a themed photo booth for the last 4 years.

We travel.

We traveled to Tacna, southern Peru, and met with representatives from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to learn about and document the aftermath of the 2001 earthquake. Hundreds were injured and the total fatalities are still unknown. We joined the efforts of the Red Cross to help document the little progress made in restoring buildings and, in some cases, whole towns due to the lack of supplies and relief efforts. The video and photography was used internally by the Red Cross for archival purposes.
